Arriving at Incheon After Midnight: Cash, Tickets and Night Buses

Highlights

The short answer

If your flight lands at Incheon late at night, you can still get cash at Terminal 1, buy an airport bus ticket and ride an overnight limousine bus into Seoul. At Terminal 1, currency exchange counters, cash machines, information desks and a capsule hotel stay open through the night, and bus ticket machines at both terminals keep selling night-bus tickets. Allow time for immigration and baggage before choosing a departure, and use the designated taxi stands if you miss the last bus. The staffed bus ticket counters and the airport help line close for part of the night, so plan around the round-the-clock options. Details were checked against the airport and bus operator pages in September 2026.

Late-Night Arrival · After the last train

A late landing at Incheon International Airport (인천국제공항) is manageable if you know which counters keep working through the night and which ones shut. This guide covers the hours between the last evening flights and the first morning buses: how long it takes to get from the aircraft to the kerb, where to get Korean won, how to buy a bus ticket when the staffed booths are closed, which overnight buses run into Seoul, what they allow in luggage, and what to do if you miss them. It is written for independent travellers heading into the city on their own, not for passengers transferring airside to another flight.

Most of the overnight facility listings below are for Terminal 1. Where a Terminal 2 detail is confirmed, it is marked as such.

How much time should I allow after my flight lands?

The airport's own planning advice for anyone booking onward transport is short and practical: Allow 1-2 hours for immigration after the flight lands before a booked departure.

That margin covers passport control. Baggage reclaim comes after it. The airport describes the sequence like this: After immigration, check the baggage claim carousel number on the display screen; use the elevator or escalator to the 1st floor; claim large baggage from the oversized baggage carousel.

In practice, that means you should not plan around the first bus departure after your scheduled landing time. Pick a departure that leaves the full immigration margin, then treat anything earlier as a bonus. If you are travelling with hold luggage, add the time for the belt, and if your bag is oversized, remember it arrives on a separate carousel.

The margin above is a planning figure, not a promise, so keep a fallback in mind: the next night-bus departure, or the taxi rank described later in this guide.

What stays open overnight at Incheon Airport?

These Terminal 1 services are listed as open around the clock:

  • 24-hour information desk near Exit 10 on 1F, Terminal 1.
  • 24-hour information desk near Exit 5 on 1F, Terminal 1.
  • LG U+ Roaming Center open 24 hours near Arrival Hall F on the west side of 1st Floor, Terminal 1.

At Terminal 2, the airport bus information desk keeps going through the night: Airport Bus Information desk open 24 hours near Exit 9 on 1F, Terminal 2.

If you would rather sleep at the airport and head into Seoul in the morning, there is a capsule hotel at Terminal 1. Capsule Hotel Darakhyu in the centre of the Transportation Center, B1, Terminal 1. Its listed hours are 00:00–24:00, and its phone number is 032-743-5000.

Which airport services close for the night?

Several services keep daytime or evening hours only. Apart from the help desk phone line, all of these are at Terminal 1:

The pharmacy upstairs follows a similar pattern: SKYWELL Pharmacy near Check-In Counter H on 3F, Terminal 1, open 06:00-22:00.

If you land after these closing times, turn to the round-the-clock services in the previous section instead: the information desks and the two roaming centres at Terminal 1, and the airport bus information desk at Terminal 2.

Where can I get Korean won after midnight?

At Terminal 1 you have both exchange counters and cash machines that do not close. On the arrivals floor:

  • A 24-hour KB Bank currency exchange counter is near Arrival Hall B on 1F, Terminal 1.
  • A 24-hour Woori Bank currency exchange counter is on 1F of Terminal 1, near Exit 11.
  • A 24-hour Woori Bank currency exchange counter is near Exit 6 on 1F, Terminal 1.

Upstairs on the departures floor:

  • A 24-hour KB Bank currency exchange counter is near Check-In Counter F on 3F, Terminal 1.
  • A 24-hour Woori Bank currency exchange counter is near Departure Hall 4 on the 3rd floor, Terminal 1.

Cash machines at Terminal 1 listed as open around the clock:

  • A 24-hour ATM is near Exit 4 in the public area on the 1st floor, Terminal 1.
  • 24-hour ATM near the All-stop Train ticket machines on floor B1, Terminal 1.
  • A 24-hour ATM is on 3F of Terminal 1, near Check-In Counter C.
  • A 24-hour ATM is near Check-in Counter E in the public area on the 3rd floor, Terminal 1.

The phone number the airport lists for these four Terminal 1 ATMs is 1577-4655.

If you need foreign currency rather than won: A Woori Bank ATM that includes a foreign currency ATM is on 3F near Check-In Counter H, Terminal 1.

This guide has no verified overnight exchange or ATM listing for Terminal 2. If your airline uses Terminal 2 and you need cash before you leave the airport, check the airport's own facility map before you fly rather than assuming the Terminal 1 arrangements apply.

Can I still buy an airport bus ticket in the middle of the night?

Yes, though how depends on the terminal. For buses into the city, the operator's rule is: Towards the city: buy a ticket at the staffed booth or the vending machine at the airport before boarding. Ticket holders board first, including on late-night buses.

The ticket machines keep working overnight. Their listed hours: 24 hours, including late-night bus tickets.

The operator notes that counter 4 at Terminal 1 runs through the night, apart from a closure in the early hours of the morning. If you arrive at Terminal 1 after the staffed counters close, go straight to the machines rather than looking for that counter.

Terminal 2 has a firm advance-ticket rule. Passengers boarding Airport Limousine buses to downtown Seoul at Terminal 2 must buy a ticket in advance, including on routes 6001, 6002 and 6015. It has applied since 2026-03-05. At Terminal 1 the arrangement is looser for a few routes: Routes 6001, 6002 and 6015 at Terminal 1 only are first-come, first-served, and accept cash, a transportation card or a ticket. The night bus N6000 is not one of them; it needs a ticket bought before boarding, as the next section sets out.

This guide has no verified detail on which payment cards the airport ticket booths and machines accept. If you plan to pay by a foreign card, carry some won as a backup.

Which night buses run from Incheon into Seoul?

One overnight service run by Airport Limousine bus is route N6000, which links the airport with Gangnam. Its departure window from Terminal 2 is 23:50–04:00, and the published timetable reads as follows. N6000 departs Incheon Airport Terminal 2 for the city at 23:50, 00:30, 01:10, 01:50, 03:20 and 04:00.

The operator lists the route like this:

  • N6000 (airport to city) stops: Incheon Airport Terminal 2, Incheon Airport Terminal 1, Songjeong Station, Yeomchang Station, Gangnam Express Bus Terminal.
  • The airport-to-city N6000 night bus does not stop at Heukseok Station.

The published times are departures from Terminal 2. The bus then calls at Terminal 1, so expect it there somewhat after the listed time.

Which night buses run from Incheon into Seoul?
N6000, airport to cityFare
Adult₩17,000
Child₩10,000

The child fare applies to elementary school pupils; from middle school upwards the adult fare applies. The advance-ticket rule applies here too: A ticket must be purchased in advance at the ticket counter or an unmanned ticket machine before boarding the airport-to-city N6000 night bus.

For Hongdae, N6002 is the night counterpart of route 6002 between Incheon Airport and Hongdae. The operator has not published an N6002 timetable in the material this guide draws on, so check it directly before you rely on it. Note also that the city-bound drop-off in Hongdae changed on 2026-07-01 for routes 6002, N6002. The stop was moved to reduce congestion and delays caused by luggage unloading in the centre lane.

To see where a bus is before you walk out to the stop: Real-time bus location is available via the Seoul bus information service (bus.go.kr).

How much luggage can I take on the airport bus at night?

The night routes are run by the same operator as the daytime limousines, and its published luggage rules are:

  • Up to 2 pieces of luggage per passenger; each piece under 28 inches and under 20kg.
  • Luggage of 20kg or more, or over 28 inches, is allowed up to 1 piece per passenger.
  • Luggage dimensions (length + width + height) must be 158cm or less.
  • Bicycles cannot be loaded, due to risk of damage to the bicycle and other passengers' luggage.

A piece beyond the free allowance is charged at ₩8,000 per bag from Incheon. If you are carrying more bags than the allowance covers, budget for that charge or consider a taxi instead.

What if I miss the last night bus or can't get a seat?

The alternative the airport points to is a taxi from a designated stand: Illegal solicitation and overcharging by call vans posing as taxis are common; use the designated taxi stands.

Standard taxis to Seoul pick up at Terminal 1 pickup locations 5C, 6C, 6D; Terminal 2 pickup location 7C. The base fare for a Seoul-bound standard taxi is ₩4,800. No boundary surcharge applies when traveling from Incheon Airport to Seoul, Incheon, Goyang, Gwangmyeong, Gimpo or Bucheon.

Standard taxis from the airport to Seoul add a late-night surcharge that changes through the night:

  • 20% from 22:00 to 23:00.
  • 40% from 23:00 to 02:00.
  • 20% from 02:00 to 04:00.

If you would like foreign-language support, look for the International Taxi: Official designated taxi with foreign language support. It picks up at Terminal 1 pickup location 4C; Terminal 2 pickup location 3C. In Seoul, a flat fare applies for the International Taxi. Its phone line is 1644-2255.

The other option is to stay put. The capsule hotel in the Terminal 1 transport centre and the round-the-clock information desks make it practical to wait for the morning buses, particularly if your hotel will not let you check in until later anyway.

Who can I contact if something goes wrong overnight?

For bus questions at night, the Terminal 2 airport bus information desk listed above is staffed through the night, and the bus information line is 032-741-6400. If you leave something on a limousine bus, the operator's lost property line is 032-743-7607. Items lost on an aircraft, airport bus or airport railroad are handled by the respective organization, not the airport Lost and Found.

For anything else, the round-the-clock information desks at Terminal 1 are the first stop. The airport's general help line is 1577-2600 (international: 82-2-1577-2600), but it keeps the daytime hours shown in the table above.

Fares, timetables and counter hours are revised from time to time, so check the bus operator's timetable and the airport's facility pages in the week before you travel.

Questions people ask

Can I buy a limousine bus ticket after the counters close?

Yes. The ticket vending machines at both terminals keep selling tickets through the night, including night-bus tickets. See the ticket section above for where the machines are.

Is there anywhere to change money at Incheon in the middle of the night?

At Terminal One, several bank exchange counters and cash machines stay open around the clock on the arrivals and departures floors. This guide has no verified overnight listing for Terminal Two, so check the airport map if you land there.

Does the overnight airport bus stop at both terminals?

Yes. Heading into the city it starts at Terminal Two and then calls at Terminal One before continuing to Songjeong, Yeomchang and the Gangnam Express Bus Terminal. The published departure times are for Terminal Two.

What should I do if I miss the last night bus?

Use the designated taxi stands rather than accepting an offer from someone soliciting passengers, or wait for the morning buses. Standard taxis to Seoul add a late-night surcharge, while the International Taxi has a flat fare in Seoul; the taxi section explains both.

How long does it take to get out of the airport after landing?

The airport advises leaving a margin for immigration before any booked departure, and baggage reclaim comes on top of that. The timing section above gives the airport figure.
