Highlights

The short answer

If you land at Incheon late in the evening or overnight, the airport limousine operator runs a dedicated overnight route to Gangnam and a night counterpart of its Hongdae route, and labels its Dongdaemun, Myeongdong and Hongdae routes as late-night buses too. At Terminal 2 you must buy a ticket from a counter or machine before boarding; at Terminal 1 three central routes also take cash or a transit card at the door, but the Gangnam night route needs a ticket at either terminal. Without mobile data, ask at the Terminal 2 bus information desk or a Terminal 1 information desk. Details were checked against the official bus operator, airport and Seoul Metro pages in September 2026.

Late-Night Arrival · After the last train

This guide is for travellers whose flight reaches Incheon International Airport (인천국제공항) late in the evening or overnight and who want to ride an airport bus into Seoul. It sets out which routes have a published late-night service, where each one stops in the city, how ticketing differs between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and how to work out your route at the airport if your phone has no data. A companion guide on arriving after midnight covers the rest of a late arrival: cash, overnight facilities and a place to sleep.

Which night buses run from Incheon Airport into Seoul?

The routes below are run by Airport Limousine bus. The sources behind this guide describe them in three different ways, and the difference matters when you are planning around a late landing.

N6000 is the overnight route to Gangnam, and it has a published night timetable in our sources; the others below do not. The operator lists its stops in this order:

N6000 (airport to city) stops: Incheon Airport Terminal 2, Incheon Airport Terminal 1, Songjeong Station, Yeomchang Station, Gangnam Express Bus Terminal.

Departures are timed from Terminal 2: N6000 departs Incheon Airport Terminal 2 for the city at 23:50, 00:30, 01:10, 01:50, 03:20 and 04:00.

Terminal 1 is the next stop on the same run, so a bus reaches Terminal 1 after its listed Terminal 2 time. Our sources give no separate Terminal 1 times.

N6002 is a night route to Hongdae. The operator describes it this way: N6002 is the night counterpart of route 6002 between Incheon Airport and Hongdae. Our sources give no timetable, fare or boarding terminal for it, so check the operator's site or ask at the bus information desk before relying on it.

Routes 6001, 6002 and 6015 are labelled late-night buses on the operator's boarding-rules page. That page says: Late-night buses 6001, 6002 and 6015 board on a first-come, first-served basis. The first-come rule depends on your terminal (see the ticket section below). Our sources do not include late-night departure times for these three routes, so confirm the last departure on the operator's timetable before you fly.

How do I buy a ticket and board at each terminal?

The operator's general rule for buses heading into the city reads as follows.

Towards the city: buy a ticket at the staffed booth or the vending machine at the airport before boarding. Ticket holders board first, including on late-night buses.

How strictly that applies depends on the terminal and the route.

Terminal 2

At Terminal 2 there is no walk-up option. Passengers boarding Airport Limousine buses to downtown Seoul at Terminal 2 must buy a ticket in advance, including on routes 6001, 6002 and 6015. This rule has applied since 2026-03-05.

The staffed counter is in Basement 1, towards the west short-term car park. Its listed weekday hours are 04:00–24:00. The operator lists the machines like this: T2: Basement 1, in the concourse, near the bus stops and near the airport railroad entrance.

Terminal 1

Terminal 1 has an exception to the ticket-first rule: Routes 6001, 6002 and 6015 at Terminal 1 only are first-come, first-served, and accept cash, a transportation card or a ticket. If your route is one of those three and you are boarding at Terminal 1, you can pay at the door, and boarding is first-come, first-served whether you hold a ticket or pay on board.

N6000 is not covered by that exception. The operator's rule for the night route is: A ticket must be purchased in advance at the ticket counter or an unmanned ticket machine before boarding the airport-to-city N6000 night bus. Nothing in our sources exempts Terminal 1 passengers from it, so buy an N6000 ticket at either terminal.

The airport lists Terminal 1's bus ticket booths here: Terminal 1 bus ticket booths are inside the terminal next to exits 4 and 9, and outside near exits 4, 6, 7, 8, 11 and 13. The operator's own listing for its machines reads: T1: 1st floor, machines by Gates 4, 7, 8 and 11 and around the indoor ticket offices.

The Terminal 1 staffed counters keep these weekday hours: 05:40–22:20. The operator adds that one Terminal 1 counter, counter 4, runs continuously except for a closure in the middle of the night, so do not rely on it for an overnight arrival; the machines are the fallback.

When the counters are shut

The operator lists the weekday hours of its ticket vending machines as 24 hours, including late-night bus tickets. If you land after the staffed counters close, go straight to a machine. Our sources do not say which payment cards the machines or booths accept, so carry some Korean won in case your card is refused.

Which bus goes to Gangnam at night?

N6000. Leaving the airport it calls at Songjeong Station and Yeomchang Station before ending at Gangnam Express Bus Terminal.

Note one difference between the two directions. The airport-to-city N6000 night bus does not stop at Heukseok Station. The airport-bound bus does call there: N6000 (city to airport) stops: Gangnam Express Bus Terminal, Heukseok Station, Yeomchang Station, Songjeong Station, Incheon Airport Terminal 1, Incheon Airport Terminal 2. If your accommodation is near Heukseok, plan to get off at Yeomchang or Gangnam and continue from there.

Fares on N6000 from the airport are ₩17,000 for an adult and ₩10,000 for an elementary-school child. On who counts as a child, the operator says: The child fare applies to elementary school pupils; from middle school upwards the adult fare applies.

Which bus stops in Dongdaemun, Myeongdong or Seoul Station?

Route 6001 links the airport with Dongdaemun, Myeongdong and Seoul Station. The operator lists its stops like this:

Route 6001 (Dongdaemun) stops: Baiton Hotel, Nine Tree Dongdaemun, Western Coop, Novotel Ambassador, Euljiro Coop, Dongdaemun DDP, Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station, Toyoko Inn Hotel, Myeongdong Station, Bank of Korea, Seoul Station Exit 3, Seoul Station Transfer Center, Incheon Airport Terminal 1, Incheon Airport Terminal 2.

The list ends at the two airport terminals. If you are heading for the subway, Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station (동대문역사문화공원역) is one of the stops.

The route page adds: Route 6001 uses first-come, first-served seating with no online reservation. The adult fare is ₩17,000 and the child fare ₩12,000.

Route 6015 serves Myeongdong, Namdaemun Market and Mapo:

Route 6015 (Myeongdong) stops: Lotte Hotel, Ibis Myeongdong, Royal Hotel (Euljiro 1-ga), Myeongdong Station, Hoehyeon Station (Namdaemun Market), Chungjeongno Station, Gongdeok Station, Mapo Station, Incheon Airport Terminal 1, Incheon Airport Terminal 2.

The route page adds: Route 6015 uses first-come, first-served seating with no online reservation. The adult fare is ₩17,000 and the child fare ₩12,000.

Both routes are among the three that walk-up passengers can board at Terminal 1. At Terminal 2 you need a ticket first. Our sources do not give the last late-night departure for either route.

Which bus goes to Hongdae at night, and where does it stop?

Route 6002 and its night counterpart N6002 serve Hongdae. Our sources do not list the other stops on either route, their fares, or an N6002 timetable.

The city-bound drop-off stop in Hongdae has changed. Drop-off for airport buses 6002 and N6002 towards downtown is the curbside stop, no longer the centre-lane stop. The change took effect on 2026-07-01. The operator's reason: The stop was moved to reduce congestion and delays caused by luggage unloading in the centre lane.

So when you get off a city-bound 6002 or N6002 in Hongdae, look for the kerbside stop rather than the centre lane.

For the return trip the boarding point did not move. The stop for boarding towards Incheon Airport is unchanged and is still the centre-lane stop.

How do I pay on the way back to the airport?

Paying works differently when you ride towards the airport, so it helps to know the rules before your departure day. The operator's notice on paying towards the airport says: Towards the airport: cash or a transportation card (T-money) paid to the driver. Credit cards cannot be processed on the bus.

The operator's boarding-rules page adds, for the same direction: Regular credit cards, the Seoul Climate Card and Discover Seoul cards are not accepted on board. In unavoidable cases, the operator allows this, again for buses towards the airport: Credit cards cannot be used to pay on the bus; in unavoidable cases, hand the card to the driver and settle payment immediately after arriving at Incheon Airport.

There is no booking for this direction. There is no advance reservation system, including online, for buses toward the airport.

For an early flight, N6000 runs overnight from Gangnam: N6000 departs Gangnam Express Bus Terminal for the airport at 23:20, 00:00, 01:40, 02:20, 03:00 and 03:30. For the airport-bound N6000 night bus, only cash or a T-money transit card are accepted.

Since cash or a transit card is what the driver takes towards the airport, a T-money transit card is worth having by then. According to Seoul Metro, T-money transit cards can be bought at any Seoul subway ticket office, and the card itself costs ₩2,500.

How do I find the right route without mobile data?

Ask a person. At Terminal 2 this is straightforward: Airport Bus Information desk open 24 hours near Exit 9 on 1F, Terminal 2. Ask staff there which route serves your area and where it stops.

At Terminal 1, the dedicated bus desk keeps daytime hours. Airport Bus Information desk near Exit 11 in the public area on 1st Floor, Terminal 1. Its listed weekday hours are 06:00–22:00, and our sources do not give its weekend hours. Outside those hours, the airport's general information desks at Terminal 1 are listed as open around the clock:

  • 24-hour information desk near Exit 10 on 1F, Terminal 1.
  • 24-hour information desk near Exit 5 on 1F, Terminal 1.

If your phone can still make calls on roaming, the airport lists this number for its bus information desk: 032-741-6400. Our sources give no hours for this line. The limousine operator gives a separate number for night-time enquiries, 02-2665-1094, and 02-2664-9898 for the daytime.

Before you fly, write down the name of the stop nearest your accommodation as it appears in the stop lists above, and save a screenshot of this page. Then show staff or the driver the stop name as written.

If you want data before you leave the airport, two mobile operators have counters at Terminal 1 listed as open around the clock:

  • KT Roaming Center open 24 hours near Arrival Hall F on the west side of 1st Floor, Terminal 1.
  • LG U+ Roaming Center open 24 hours near Arrival Hall F on the west side of 1st Floor, Terminal 1.

Pocket Wi-Fi is another option at Terminal 1. The airport lists the counter here: Wifi dosirak pocket Wi-Fi counter near Arrival Hall F on the west side of 1st Floor, Terminal 1. Its listed weekday hours are 06:00–22:00. Our sources do not list overnight roaming counters at Terminal 2.

Once you are online, the operator points to an online service for bus locations: Real-time bus location is available via the Seoul bus information service (bus.go.kr).

What if I miss the bus, it is full, or I have no ticket?

No ticket at Terminal 2 and the counter is closed. Use a ticket machine; see the weekday machine hours listed above.

The bus fills up. The operator's boarding rule: Ticket holders board first, and this includes late-night buses. At Terminal 1, routes 6001, 6002 and 6015 board on a first-come, first-served basis, with or without a ticket, so join the queue early. If you still miss a seat on N6000, check the timetable above for the next departure and decide whether to wait or take a taxi.

You miss the last bus. Take a taxi from the official rank. The airport's own advice: Illegal solicitation and overcharging by call vans posing as taxis are common; use the designated taxi stands. Standard taxis to Seoul pick up at Terminal 1 pickup locations 5C, 6C, 6D; Terminal 2 pickup location 7C. The base fare for a standard taxi to Seoul is ₩4,800, and the airport adds a note on late hours: A night surcharge of approximately 20% to 40% applies to taxis between 22:00 and 04:00. For a driver who speaks another language, the airport describes the International Taxi this way: Official designated taxi with foreign language support. It picks up at Terminal 1 pickup location 4C; Terminal 2 pickup location 3C.

You leave something on the bus. Items lost on an aircraft, airport bus or airport railroad are handled by the respective organization, not the airport Lost and Found. The limousine operator's lost-property line is 032-743-7607.

Check the operator's route pages and the airport's facility pages in the week before you travel in case anything has changed, especially for routes where this guide has no timetable.

Questions people ask

Can I pay for the night bus with a foreign credit card?

The operator says credit cards cannot be used on board for trips towards the airport. Leaving the airport, tickets are sold at counters and machines, and at Terminal 1 three routes also take cash or a transit card at the door. Our sources do not say which cards the counters and machines accept, so carry some won.

Do I need a ticket before boarding at Terminal 1?

For the Gangnam night route, yes. The three Terminal 1 routes listed above are the exception: boarding them at Terminal 1, you can also pay with cash or a transit card at the door, and boarding is first-come, first-served.

Where does the Hongdae night bus drop me off?

City-bound buses on the Hongdae routes now stop at the kerbside stop rather than the centre lane. The stop for boarding back to the airport did not change. See the Hongdae section above.

Is there anywhere to ask about routes in the middle of the night?

Yes. The airport bus information desk at Terminal 2 is listed as open around the clock, and Terminal 1 has general information desks listed the same way. The how-to section above gives their locations.

Does the Gangnam night bus stop at Heukseok?

Not when leaving the airport. The operator lists Heukseok on the airport-bound run but not on the run from the airport, so get off at Yeomchang or Gangnam and continue from there.
