Highlights

The short answer

Any foreign visitor planning a two-week Korea trip should know the KORAIL Pass has a real ceiling: the longest option covers 5 travel days within a 10-day window from the pass's start date, not two full weeks of unlimited travel. It is only available to foreigners, not Korean nationals. Whether it pays off depends on how many long-distance trips you actually take in that window versus the pass price, checked against the current Korail pricing.

Does the Korea Rail Pass cover a full two-week trip?

Not on its own. The 2-day Select pass lets you choose 2 to 5 travel days within a 10-day window from the pass start date; all pass holders must select their departure date within 10 days of the pass's starting date A two-week trip will need either a pass window timed around your busiest travel days, plus separate tickets for the rest, or point-to-point tickets throughout.

Who can buy it?

Any foreigner visiting Korea can use the KORAIL PASS; it is unavailable to persons with Korean nationality

What does it cost?

Pricing rises with the length of the pass: ₩131,000 for the shortest tier, ₩186,000 for the next tier up, ₩234,000 for the tier above that, and ₩275,000 for the longest tier.

What if most of my two weeks is spent in one city?

If you are not taking many long-distance train trips, a short pass or even individual point-to-point tickets may cost less than the pass; the pass pays off mainly when you are covering several long routes inside its 10-day window.
