If you are a visitor arriving at Incheon Airport, buy your limousine bus ticket before you board rather than planning to tap a foreign credit card. Heading into the city you buy at a counter or machine in the terminal; heading back out to the airport the driver takes cash or a transit card, and a credit card cannot be processed on board at all. Cards issued outside Korea are therefore best used to buy the ticket in the terminal, not to pay the driver. Checked against the operator's own notice.

Can I tap a foreign credit card on the bus?
No. 공항리무진 (Airport Limousine bus) states that a credit card cannot be settled on board: No. The operator's notice explains that payment has to be completed after arrival at the airport, and that a driver may hold the card until it is. That is an awkward position to be in with a queue behind you, and it is avoidable.
What does the driver actually accept?
Travelling towards the airport, the accepted methods are narrow: Towards the airport: cash or a transportation card (T-money) paid to the driver. Credit cards cannot be processed on the bus.. A 티머니 (T-money transit card) card counts as a transit card here, which is the practical reason to buy one on arrival rather than on your last morning.

The requirement to hold a ticket before boarding at Terminal 2 is recent rather than long-standing: Passengers boarding Airport Limousine buses to downtown Seoul at Terminal 2 must buy a ticket in advance, including on routes 6001, 6002 and 6015, in force since 2026-03-05.
Does holding a ticket get me on the bus sooner?
Yes, and this matters most when you are tired. Ticket holders board first, and this includes late-night buses.
What if I have no ticket and no cash?
There is one carve-out, and it is narrow: Routes 6001, 6002 and 6015 at Terminal 1 only are first-come, first-served, and accept cash, a transportation card or a ticket. On every other route, and at Terminal 2 on all routes, you need the ticket first.
If you land without won and without a transit card, the order that works is: buy a transit card or draw cash in the arrivals hall, then buy the bus ticket at the counter, then board. Give yourself room for it — Allow 1-2 hours for immigration after the flight lands before a booked departure, so a bus booked tightly against your landing time is a bus you will miss.

Can I pay the driver with Visa or Mastercard?
Not on board. The operator's notice says a credit card cannot be processed on the bus and has to be settled after arrival at the airport, so buy a ticket in the terminal or carry cash or a transit card instead.
Do I need a ticket at Terminal 1 as well as Terminal 2?
At Terminal 2 a ticket is required in advance on all Airport Limousine routes. At Terminal 1 three routes are first-come, first-served and accept cash or a transit card, but ticket holders board first everywhere.
Is a T-money card enough on its own?
